Things I’ve loved about 2023

Today I had some extra time and checked to see what posts I had in drafts. I found this list from 2023. Last year was an absolutely horrible year, but this list I made and then forgot about, it is good reminder of some of the beauty in the midst of the pain.

  • Bristol Renaissance Faire, which I dream of daily
  • Gay Six Flags
  • Camping, a couple times!
  • Climbing
    • outdoors at the Red in Kentucky
    • with my crew in the gym, for the first half of the year
    • with my girlfriend because yes, she finally got into it and LOVES it
    • top rope
  • Year of Americana
    • Patty Griffin
    • Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit
    • Ondara
  • Hot dogs with Lucy
  • Dungeons & Dragons
  • Learning more about my neurodivergence, which has been a big focus for me
  • Bonsai trees at the Botanic Garden
  • Italian sodas at Botanic Cafe
  • Training people at work (2024 update: former job)
  • Writing on LinkedIn
  • Friendship
  • My therapist
  • Reading again, a little bit

We’re over half way through 2024 at this point, and it’s been a delightful year overall, thankfully. Friendship and therapy remain core parts of my life. I’m going to the Ren Faire again soon, hopefully starting a new DND campaign this year, and drinking more Italian sodas than ever before.
